A selection of people from the bible

Christ has many, many pseudonyms, or more to the point, titles. "Christ" is a title in itself meaning "anointed."
Common ones are "Saviour, Messiah, King, Lord, Son of Man, Teacher, I AM, etc...." So I may make a separate page later for all his titles - but I won't be listing them all here.

Also, many times folks in the bible were renamed. A few examples: Abram Abraham, Sarai Sarah, Jacob Israel, Simon Peter, and more.... Some of them are cross-referenced here. But that is not the original purpose of this page. So I may not list all of them here.

Aaron was Moses' brother and a public speaker when Moses wasn't comfortable dictating God's word to the people. He assisted leading the children of Israel from captivity in Egypt; he succumbed to the pressures of the people through idolatry with a golden calf as Moses communed with God alone on mount Sinai. After wandering in the desert for 40 years, he died before entering the Promised Land.

First man on earth. Created from the dust of the earth, born in the garden of Eden, he was able to enjoy all of God's new creation. The Lord's only caveat: do not go near the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But Adam disobeyed God, and tasted the fruit of the tree. Thus Adam, along with his wife, Eve, became self-aware; and brought sin into the world for the rest of mankind.

A Hebrew boy raised in Pharaoh's court at a time when Pharaoh had decreed all Hebrew babies be slaughtered. Through the Lord's deliverance in crossing the Red sea, and with the assistance of his brother Aaron, he led the children of Israel out of Egypt. At mount Sinai, Moses brought down the 10 commandments as well as myriad other rules of conduct. In such close communion with the Lord, his face shone as he spoke to the people of Israel. At the end of his life, Moses led the people to the edge of the Promised Land, but the Lord did not allow him to enter before he died.
